R.A. Long High and Lewis and Clark College alumnus Scott Pisapia has joined the women’s basketball coaching staff at Lewis and Clark as an assistant coach to first-year head coach Kristina Williams.
“I have a soft spot in my heart for our campus and the city of Portland,” Pisapia said in a news release from the college. “I met some of my best friends while on Palatine Hill, and I have a close relationship with Kristina. When she called, it felt like the perfect time.”
Pisapia competed for the Pioneers earlier this decade as a member of the men’s basketball program. While he was a student-athlete, Pisapia led the Northwest Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio as a senior. Lewis & Clark qualified for the NWC postseason all four of his seasons.
Since graduating from Lewis and Clark in 2012, Pisapia helped start the Roots Academy, a non-profit that provides opportunities for youth through sports. He has also served as an assistant coach on the varsity staff at R.A. Long.
